Hi!
I've been using the product for more or less 5 months. It was recommended to me by my dermatologist. I apply it every 3 nights. During the first few months, I found that the product really worked like a miracle. After only one application, the sweating completely stopped. As a hyperhydrosis sufferer, I felt so glad that there is such a thing as driclor in this world. That way I wouldn't have to have botox injected or undergo any surgery.
BUT,
These past few days, I noticed that its effects started wearing off. Before, I apply it once every 3 nights. Before, the day following the first night of application, I would be completely dry and sweat free in the underarm area no matter how much I sweat on all other parts of my body. But now, my armpit feels kinda moist and a little wet (although not that much) even though I applied it only last night!
Just like any other medicine, I believe that driclor's effects wear off. I am not a doctor nor a medical student, but I believe that as the body gets used to certain medicines, it gradually becomes "immune" to it. Take drinking coffee for instance. The first time you try it, you feel all jumpy, energized and awake. But as you get used to drinking coffee all the time, eventually you'll start noticing that it doesn't give you that strong of a kick anymore.
You're lucky that you were at least able to fully enjoy four years of your life sweat-free with the use of driclor.
My advise is for you to stop using it for a while. Allow your body to "breathe" even for just a month or so and then, apply it again. Observe if it would work again. Or perhaps you can try switching anti-perspirant brands. If it doesn't, maybe it's time for you to consult a dermatologist. My derma explained to me that there are three steps to stop excessive underarm sweating. One is the use of strong anti-perspirants such as driclor or certain dri. If it doesn't work, there's still botox (although it can only stop the sweat for 5-7 months). If botox still doesn't for the patient, the last solution is surgery. Yes, that procedure to remove the nerves and all that. Sounds quite scary though.
I know it's frustrating. I feel the same way too. Underarm sweating had really ruined my social life. And I don't want to ever go back again to that person that I was months ago. I have made it my life goal to continue searching for solutions for hyperhydrosis.
