Does this happen to you guys?

This happens to me all the time, but I'll give you a specific example. Last week I was in a Best Buy. I asked the guy about a certain MP3 player and he started telling me about it. After about 5 seconds of him looking at my eyes, I got really self concious and nervous and had to look away. The rest of the conversation I was looking back and fourth and could barely concentrate on what he was saying. It's a nervous habit I need to get over because people either think I'm not paying attention to them, I'm bored of them, or I'm shady about something. I'm working with my therapist to use positive self talk to overcome these problems, but it's hard to think positive stuff, when you're trying to listen to someone. I will bring this up next appointment, but I was wondering if you guys had any ideas.

A little trick I do is look at them in their fore head, it works sometimes but I have my bad days where I can't help but constantly look around my surroundings. I'm sure security keeps a close eye on me.

I find eye contact difficult too, yea Ive heard of that look between the eyes forehead thing before. It sometimes helps a lot, if I can remember the tip at the time. Maybe looking at the MP3 whilst talking will help, and like be somewhere to keep your eyes on when your feeling most anxious. At least he/she will be less likely to think your bored of them.
