Does Thanksgiving scare you?

Yes! 8O it does every year because we have a big loud bunch of relatives over and I never feel comfortable. I actually threw a fit last year and didn't go, the panic was so bad. But I'm determined to stay positive and strong this year. It's just eating turkey! I hope I'll survive.
What's your thanksgiving like?

MMMmmmmm I'd have to say yes. The reasons have changed over the years (your post sounds like a particular phase in my life). This year should be good but I am nervous out of habit from all the other years when it wasn't good. 8O

A little. Especially with my cousins who i never talk to anymore. They're going to be watching me and expecting me to say something, since I'm older now.

That's like Christmas eve in my family... big gathering. I don't worry as much around family because there's no one really to impress or anything. Now if you're talking about mingling at a party with peers or colleagues then that is totally different (and very difficult).

Other years when I have been at home with my family, xmas day has been ok as I know all my family and feel comfortable around them. But its when my brother invites his gf over, or my parents invite friends over that I start to feel uncomfortable.

But now my confidence around people is starting to get a little bit better, its not as scary. Especially with a glass of alcohol beforehand

This boxing day Im scared though. Il be going to my bf's parents on boxing day. It'll be his family, their partners, little kids and grans etc. Some strangers and people I dont know very well, but Im seeing it as a challenge. Il just stick to my bf, he knows about my SP/SA and hopefully it wont be as bad as I think it will be

Eat turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, apple or pumpkin pie, etc. With all your close relatives around who are hopefully not interrogating you on your girlfriend status :p

I had an ok Thanksgiving. I actually wanted more family members to come, even though I'd feel a little off. It's just that most of my family live in very different areas in the US and the world.
