As with any medication, you may experience some side effects, but celexa side effects are mild to moderate, and tend to go away quickly. The most frequent side effects of celexa are:

* nausea;
* dry mouth;
* drowsiness;
* insomnia;
* increased sweating;
* tremor;
* diarrhea and;
* some men will have problems with ejaculation.
* weight loss;
* rash, itching,
* change in taste,
* change in sexual function, or;
* decreased menstrual flow.

If you do experience any side effects of celexa you should talk to a doctor or other healthcare professional if you have any concerns about the celexa side effects or if the side effects of celexa won't go away.

Its rare for any side effects of celexa to remain long term. Most celexa side effects will go away within the first few weeks.

When you do begin to feel better after taking celexa for a while and any side effects of celexa have disappeared do not just stop taking celexa. Only a doctor or other healthcare professional can tell you when to stop taking Celexa.

To prevent your depression from coming back you may need to continue treatment for several months. This is due to the fact that depression symptoms tend to take a while to completely go away.

Another reason the side effects of celexa tend to be very minor and short lived is that celexa doesn't interfere with other drug prescriptions. However if you are taking any other drug prescriptions you need to make sure you tell your doctor or other healthcare professional.

My mom has been on Celexa for over 7 years now & doesn't have any side effects at all. I know because I'm in charge of her care & she's never complained of any side effects.

It's different for all people, though. One med can work perfectly well in one person & wreak havoc on another.

I take celexa

Well, let me tell you that when I first got my panic attacks I thought I was going to die. I was at the casino and they had to call the ambulance and they took me to the hospital did al test and nothing came back negative. After that I couldn't deal with my attacks, so much that I passed a whole week without sleeping. It was then I realized I neede a doctor's help. They put on Celexa, and it has decrease my panic attacks or when I get them I don't get them that strong. At the beginning when I started taking it I used to get bad headaches, but now I am perfectly fine.

When I was experiencing panic attacks, the most common side effect that I personally experienced was Nausea when first starting to take the medication. I too took a small dose of Celexa for a few months.

Most important thing to do is talk to your doctor and follow his advice, as well as your pharmacist. Also, one thing I found very helpful was to talk to my doctor about the side effects experienced.

I've just been prescribed Celexa this week also. They wanted to put me on Zoloft, but I've been on that twice and it didn't help much. It's good to see that list of possible side-effects above^, although I'm honestly not sure when I'll even be able to get my prescription filled as I can't afford it on my own.

Ok- I took celexa for 2 years for social anxiety. It helped me 100%.. cured all my blushing problems, and anxiety. The downside is the sexual symptoms. I didn't notice any other side effects. I would recommend this to anyone for short term relief !

I was on Celexa for 2 years for social anxiety. I had absolutely no other side effects than sexual dysfunction. Also, I started to feel a little bit crazy. I became really care free and would take really big risks that I wouldn't otherwise try.
