When I come to this site I feel a sense of relief since I can relate with people with what their going thought but at the same time many of the post are about how crappy life can be with social anxiety. Sometimes It gets depressing reading these post....This site should be less "victim-minded" and more about improvement. Its a cycle and when your victim mind takes over there is little space for progress. LESS COMPLAINING !!! Other than that I had a good dayyyyyyyyyyyy

I just joined this site too, and I haven't seen that much negativity actually. Not as much I expected to anyway. The members here are so encouraging towards one another. So supportive. It is so nice to be able to interact with others who feel the same way as I do and don't judge me. So far that has been my experience. Working towards something should be the goal of course, but I can see why people come here to vent...sometimes there is just no one else who is there to listen. I am glad you had a good day. Mine was so-so but I had a super good day yesterday, so it is balancing a bit :)

I think being negative is all part of the process of healing, its about being allowed to verbalise how you really do feel and it helps in getting out of your system. Too often society expects us to be cheery - blah to that!

So should everyone pretend they're happy? Obviously everyone comes here to let off steam or to talk about what's going on with them, and not much of it is very positive.

Some of us live a lone and don't have anyone to talk to, just talking about these things negative or not helps a lot.

It is...

People come here for support because they want to get better. Sometimes the biggest form of support is just knowing that you're not alone in the way you think and being able to discuss it with people who aren't going to tell you you're just being stupid or to "get a grip".

Of course people are going to feel a little victimised - most people don't even know about S.A, let alone take it seriously. But you'll find that very few, if any on here, are not willing to work towards getting better.

This site is about being able to discuss your problems somewhere where you can and everybody pretty much listens to each other and tries to help everybody out. Progress is celebrated and setbacks are met with even more support. There are bound to be occasions in which people write extremely negative posts but they wouldn't be doing so if they didn't want help. Seeking help is the first step to improvement.
