I have purchased Dilitiazem and waiting for it to come in. I will give it a try and update all of you with the results. Should be coming in some time next week.
hope this works im desperate due to my super unbearable compensatory sweating from the ETS surgery a TOTAL nitemare, especially the chest and back for the past 8 years wow. so either diltiazem will work or ill go to alaska to live maybe hahaha
Hi All, quick update.
I started taking 60mg Tildiem modified release (diltiazem hydrochloride) yesterday. So this is day two. Yesterday I had a few issues, I felt anxious/fidgety but got a good nights sleep and today has been fine so far. Dosage has been 2 x around 8 am with 1 x 6 hours later and a further 1 x 6 hours later. Essentially I will be putting 240mg of slow release into my system per 24 hours. Though I know more can be administered I will not be willing to much beyond this for worries over lowered blood pressure and heart problems.
Yesterday I felt no different, today I took a walk around the block (about 1 mile up and down hills) at a good pace and although I was sweating I feel there was a decent reduction. I expect tomorrow to be the first day I have the stuff fully going through me and have a dreaded trip across London on the tube planned so that will give me as good an indication as anything! As this med can take a few weeks to fully kick in and side effects are so far okay I will continue for the time-being in the hop that this will be more effective than glyco.
My issue with glyco are the side effects as I need around 6mg per day to stay dry but if I get some effect out of diltiazem I may begin the process of combining lesser amounts of the two for maximum effect... we all know there is no miracle cure and I am a true believer in stacking.
If others are trying this PLEASE keep us posted on what and how it is or is not working.
Many thnaks
so im on diltiazem 60 mg 3 x a day now for 3 days and i havent felt any real difference. im hoping it will kickin after a week or so? i will keep trying it for a few weeks then see my dr again and discuss the dosage. hmmm i dont wanna rely on robinul again, i hope this works. what are any of your thought about the dosage im on do i need more?
Sorry for late reply. I have had many things going on in my life beyond my control. I am still taking 120mg extended release twice daily. My hands and feet have continued to stay dry and my forehead sweat is now only a light perspiration. If the temp is below 90f then most certainly this is no sweat. The only side effect i am experiencing is constipation and bloating.
With this medicine it is now normal or at worse slightly more. The untrained eye would not notice it and it is far better than what it was. In short, I would just try this medicine. You have little to lose. With insurance it might be $10 a most for a month's supply.thanks cm for your reply, i am sorry if i appear impatient...honestly my entire life revolves around this one thing as many HH sufferers im sure can relate to (yourself possibly included), i know u stated u still get the light perspiration on ur forehead at temps of 90+ but would u consider your perspiration in this heat normal in comparison to others without HH? or still slightly excessive but much better than it was?
-Thanks a lot for your time and patience
Yes.Is this Diltiazem you're talking about?
