ok we all have sa well iv been reading a lot of things about this and seems to me eating sensibly can help , a lot of proccesed foods have god knows how many e numbers in , perservatives ect if you read the back of the packet of say a cheap pie the rubbish they put in there is unreal , a lot of doctors agree that they dont really know the long term effects of eating all that rubbish will have on you , in the 1940s cancer was quite rare , now its all over the place ... i really do think a decent diet and lots of excersize will help with sa , by cutting out all those e numbers in your diet , it might be some of the reason for depression , we dont know the effect all those e numbers have on our body or minds do we , worth a try dont you think ? just eat Natural healthy foods ;)

I've been hearing a lot more about that on TV lately. I guess people are finally starting to take this more seriously. I remember hearing that something as simple as asparagus is a mood booster for anxiety.

Yep, i'm gonna do this. :) when i'm eating healthily i feel better in my mood knowing that i'm doing something good for my body.

You guys and gals are right. Eating healthy food and keeping fit goes a long way to helping to cope with SA. It's something that you can control a lot of the time. Both the element of nutrition and knowledge of making a worthwhile decision can help. Hey... every small step matters.

I've been a vegan for almost a year, I have definitely noticed improvement in my mood and my energy levels as a result. That wasn't the main reason why I did it, but it's definitely a nice bonus.

I'm a vegan too, and it has been a big part of my recovery.

Have you guys heard of macrobiotic eating? Do you think that would help? (they don't have any meats on their list, so it's basically vegan too)

i live with my folks and they fill the pantry up with chocolate and chips and i'm lucky that my metabolism keeps me in shape, i mean i play sports as well which helps but i eat mainly junk food, chocolate, biscuits, strawberry milk, toast, chips....i love the stimulant effect of junk foods and caffiene.. but i'm really good at adapting to changes of diet, so i can spend a week only drinking tea and eating veggies and fruit if i want to but i think i lack the care either way....

You're totally right. I'm so glad everyone these days is trying to live healthy. It definitely makes a difference. The hard part is getting used to eating healthy and cutting the crap out of your life! And if you're going to eat unhealthy foods, make them yourself.

This is definite. I know from experience that it works. I will be back on board as soon as I finish my root beer, chips and ice cream!

I'm not a vegan, but i'm a vegetarian. I've been a vegetarian for about 7 years now but mostly based my diet around cheese and junk foods. I've been told being a vegetarian means i'm lacking in iron which results in me feeling constantly tired. I was just wondering do you two feel tired alot?, and if not what types of food containing alot of iron do you find really helps?

Thanks. :)

I eat bucket-loads of spinach and lentils, which apparently are high sources of iron.

Also, when I was vegetarian, i existed almost exclusively on cheese...it was SO hard to give it up.

Ah spinach, i've heard that's good in iron. Damn, i must start eating veggies. People laugh when i say i'm a vegetarian but don't eat veggies. :D

i guess the dream of every SA would be to live in the woods away from society and grow your own vegetables.
