Okay this has been happening to me a LOT lately. I'll get up from my seat to sharpen my pencil or get a piece of paper, and I'll come back and some creep will be in it.
The first time this happened I asked the guy "May I please have my seat back?" He's a jock with such a big ego and he's like a year older than me, so I felt totally intimidated when he smiled arrogantly and said said, "No." I went and found a different seat and was so over welmed, that instead of working on my project, I was trying SO hard to hold back tears entire time. I know, this is so pathetic. I'm almost 16 and stuff like this will make me cry.
The next time this happened, I didn't even bother to ask the girl for my seat. She's really popular, stuck up and is like 2 years older than me. She was sitting at my desk doing her make up, and there I was standing over her waiting for her to notice me but she didn't even acknowledge that I was there. My binder was underneath her purse and my backpack was underneath her (well, MY) chair. I was just so pissed off that I pulled my binder out from under her purse knocking it over and my backpack out from under the chair as roughly as I possibly could, so that the chair would move with her in it. And you know what, she still didn't even look up from what she was doing or even act as though anything was happening around her. So once again, I went off to find another seat and tried very hard not to cry.
That was just a couple of the times, but as I said before, this is begining to happen so often now.
What do you do in this type of situation? We never really went over it at home or at school, cause you know people SHOULD have the decency to not do stuff like this. Who taught them to be so disrespectful? Don't these people feel any guilt? I would love to lamely slap them or something, but you know that is never going to happen, lol.

I use "lol" out of habit. I just found the title "Desk thieves" amusing, sorry. :( Let my teacher know what's going on? Not such a good idea. The guy snifes pencils and threatens to crucify us. 8O If this happens again though, I may. :? It won't be long before I start crying like a baby and make the kids that steal my seat look bad. Lol @ the bottle of juice thing. I may just try that. :D

Brings back memories. That's why I never left my seat. Must repress, must repress, must repress all my memories. :(

argh I really feel for you, its a tricky situation which brings back a lot of highschool memories

I say its a tricky situation because it IS bullying/harrasment and of course it will make you feel terrible but at the same time most teachers will see it as petty or not worth bothering about if you bring it to their attention

standing up for yourself in those kind of situations can often make it worse off for you, I recall one time where I was stupid enough to ask the jock who took my desk to move and I ended up being stabbed with a metal compass

best advice I can give is always sit near the front of the class, I know its a stereotype but jocks/bullies/popular people prefer to sit nearer the back of class. if you sit closer to the front then there is less chance they will want to take your seat and more chance that if they do try the teacher will spot them in the act

the only over advice I can give I was never brave enough to try... everytime you get off your seat to sharpen your pencil or watever, put a few tacs or pins on your seat

i would just tell them to fet the fu*k out of my seat if i were you. it might turn into trouble that time, but i bet it wont happen again. if you keep it hidden that you dont care, its gonna keep happening. so basically just make it known that you dont play that sh*t and want your seat back.

keep in mind. people only get bullied cause they dont do anything about it. once that person getting bullied makes it known that they're pissed and care about what is happening it usually will stop. no single person likes conflict in a fair challenge but people do like conflict if there is no challenge, and your not giving them a challenge. let it be known..

good luck.

pfft, i turn 20 in march and you'd be suprised what i cry over!! i don't know about guys, but with chicks, you're never too old to cry. TRUST ME. but guys should cry too - it's a good stress reliever.

it's so embarrassing b/c i cry when i'm really really angry. so if i'm fighting with someone, i break out into this hideous scrunched up red faced sobby cry - yeah, they'll really take me seriously then huh?

don't let it get the best of ya, it SUCKS to be walked over but it's just a part of life. it's still one of the things that really get my panties in a wad.

In high school. I once left my seat in class, came back and sat on a nail wrapped up in paper. When i yelled out, the boys behind me laughed, turns out they planted it there. I walked straight up to the class, told the teacher, who then began a lecture on peace, love, and harmony. It would've been funny if not for my sore bum.

I know it doesnt' compare with the pain u felt, at least i had a seat to go back to.
