This will mean different things to different people. For me, it means giving up on the mental health professions, including psychotherapy and drugs. But it does not mean giving up on people. I still want to be more social.

I think you've come to a logical conclusion. If pyschotherapy isn't working for you, for whatever reasons, and you've tried several times, it's OK to try something else.

There's another quote I think goes well with the one you gave: insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
