this is kind of a weird question, but for the next 3 1/2 months, im going to be stressed/depressed because of whats left of school. im going to feel depressed because, well, i have hyperhidrosis (sweaty hands n feet) and u know how high school is lol. so, will being stressed/depressed for the next couple of months make me lose hair? and if so, will it be permanent?

It can for some people, but it definitely does not happen to everyone. Although I don't know if if 3 1/2 months is enough as to where it would do a lot of damage, and not sure if it would grow back but I think it would. Why? DO you have any problems with your hair already?

actually no. theres no sign of the bald genes from any of my family members (uncles, grandpas, cousins etc...). but then again, theres no sign of depression from them either lol.

Hey Hinder,

I am 34 years old and have struggled with manic/bipolar depression since I was very young, and have not experienced any hair loss. But, I have read many articles and experiences of others, where both men and women can lose patches of hair within a short amount of time due to times of great stress. Depending on the stress and anxiety one is going through, can be a proportional to the hair loss. One case in point that you may or may not remember is when the New York Yankees outfielder Roger Maris was on his way to to passing Babe Ruth's All-Time Home-Run record. The pressure was so intense against him, that his body reacted in such a way as to lose large patches of hair. After he gained the record, his hair began to grow back.

I do understand how tough and "hellish" depression and anxiety is. But, stay strong and fight past this. The chances are very good that any hair loss will grow back, especially if you are young, so don't worry about that. If this continually is happening, then maybe a doctor will know of something that will help.

Take care and stay strong,

David

A friend of mine actually used to suffer from hair loss due to stress. I dont know all the details of it but i know she told me about a couple of incidents and i actually seen some of the hair come out at work once, i felt really terrible there was nothing i could do to help her.

Hair.

During the really bad times, my hair falls out in clumps in the shower.

Luckily, no bald patches.

I don't know whether it's because when I'm really low I don't look after myself... or because of the stress.

yes depression can cause your hair to fall out...one thing i have used and it works is Chromium Picolinate...you can get it at walmart.

and second thing,You can explore www.mamaherb.com regarding natural ways offered by public for resolving hair loss and you can see all the comments for it and to how many people it really helped so far.
