If I drink strong coffee, my heart beats more rapidly, and yes, I just feel anxious without much reason, I mean usually I don't feel anxious in such situation, but because of my rapid heartbeat, somehow the anxiety came in.
I still drink coffee but not the strong one, and it does not give me those effects.

i haven't feeled the difference myself but I think it's a fact that caffeine makes anxiety worse. I've decided to stop drinking coffee(except a cup once in a while as now for example ;) ) , because it's a quite simple thing stop (probably not if you are very addicted) and when it really lessens the anxiety. Bye bye caffeine! Hello confident, filled with self-e-steem, extroverted me

I don't think caffeine affects me in that way at all, but I think if I drink too much caffeine, it gives me bladder/kidney problems. 8O

hah! yeaa.. caffeine definitely makes you more anxious, once it kicks in and starts making your heart beat faster, making you more alert.
which is y "normal" people drink it to make them more awake. but if you suffer from anxiety, caffeine's surely going to mess around with you, so i suggest, stay away from it or cut down.
but i dont miss my regular cuppa tea.

btw.. haven't you already caught the show "Over the Hedge" and seen the part where the character Hammy drank that can of soda that had lotsa caffeine in it. Now that's what you're asking for! if you wanna have caffeinated stuff...
cheers

Caffeine doesn't make me any more anxious then if I don't have any.I guess caffeine effect people in different ways.

When you get right down to it though.People should take caffeine more seriously because it is a drug and it can have addictive properties.

Caffeine is known for increasing anxiety problems, a side effect of increased alertness (what is anxiety after all, alertness for an inexistent threat).

Personally though it doesn't seem to make mine much worse, in moderate amounts. Actually it seems to have a positive effect on me, even in social interaction, as it prevents me from feeling too much depressed and uninterested in talking to others. It makes me slightly more extrovert than I would otherwise be.
But I guess the fact is I don't have clear anxiety problems, more like a mixture of scarce social habits and abilities, and a certain tendency to depression. Maybe I have SP not SA, even though they are supposed to be the same.

Drinking my home-made lattes, especially in conjuction with not eating right, can make my thinking more negative for about the rest of the day it seems if I'm mostly just sitting around the house anyway. But on the other hand I suppose it can be an excuse... blame the anxiety on the AM latte addiction hehe.
