Just registered to share my experience.
I suffered with axillary(underarm) hyperhidrosis for the past ten years. I fully understand what a terrible disease it is. I was at my wits end. I have tried every topical solution known to man. I always wore two t-shirts to hide my condition for an extra couple of hours until I soaked through both of them. I could be sitting in my room on the computer in the middle of winter with the window cracked and still be dripping from my armpits. I finally met a doctor who was willing to give me a recommendation to the dermatologist. Within one meeting we agreed on trying botox. After countless hours online I decided to try it. This was my last resort, cause the surgery ETS just seems to make most people worse in a different area. The procedure was really easy and for the most part painless. You must shave your armpits prior to the appointment. They rub iodine on the area and sprinkle it with baking soda(to see where you produce the most sweat). They administered around 60 shots on both armpits. I really didn't think it would work. About three days after the procedure no sweat AT ALL. It has been close to three months since I had the procedure and not one drop of sweat and NO compensatory sweating anywhere else. I have never been happier. Also, my anxiety is gone(shocking I know)
I was able to have my insurance Kaiser cover all of it. I paid my ten dollar office visit copay and that was it. I will have to go back for treatment, but the time between treatments is yet to be determined. If you have thought about botox or any of this sounds like your symptoms you have to try it! I never thought it would work and thought I was stuck with this for life. Now i am "normal" again and can't praise the botox treatment enough. If you have any questions please PM me. Good luck to all of you.
