well there have been several threads about music and movies.. so why won't we start another one about literature? what are your favourite books and in which ways do they help you?

mine are Adrian Mole series, The Catcher In The Rye and just about anything by John Irving. i love Irving because of the way he writes about weirdness, differing and space. and there's a piece of Melony, Franny, Lilly, Jenny, Tulpen, Biggie, Nancy, Hester and also a little bit of Owen in me. yup, Irving rules for me.

oh, gotta love Catcher in the Rye. Lately I've been reading fantasy type stuff by Charles De Lint (The Onion Girl is my favorite) and also the Life of Pi is a great one, I'd recommend it to anyone. For some reason I also really like the Domesday Mystery series by Edward Marsten and The Abhorsen trilogy by Garth Nix. I think SA'ers can really relate to his character Lirael...even though she's got magic powers and can shapeshift... :lol:
