Hi there,
I've been taking Anafranil (Clomipramine) for about one year now. I take 100mg a night. I was prescribed it for depression, OCD, and social anxiety/phobia. You have a very good medication here. It has considerably helped my OCD and depression, and it has also done a bit for my social anxiety/phobia, too. You'll probably notice quite a few side effects at the start of treatment. Mine included light-headedness, dizziness, dizziness when standing up, disturbed sleep patterns, constantly yawning, feeling sleepy, and a few more. Virtually all of these gradually wore off, although I still feel a bit sleepy and sedated. Anafranil is known to be a MILD SEDATIVE (so probably not as strong as something like Valium (Diazepam)), and this makes it good for people who suffer from anxiety. It took a good 4-6 weeks for me to feel the effect, so don't give up on it if you don't see an improvement straight away. You will feel it begin to take effect, and it should definitely help you with your OCD, and to some extent with your anxiety. Hope this helps. Good luck!
Daniel
