Im taking a class right now to get my Nursing Assistant license renued, and in this class, we have daily "labs" where we practice real-world situations on each other. Today we had to take each other's weight and height, in front of everyone, and when my partener weighed me, she asked me, "How much do you usually weigh?" as per the procedure, and I said, "About 130 lbs." and when my partener read my weight, i weighed 117 lbs!! I've been kindof depressed lately, and when Im depressed, I dont have much of an appetite, but I cant believe I've lost almost 15 lbs!! THEN, this one girl who I dont get along with well, said, in front of everyone, "Whoa, 5" 11' and 117 lbs? Anorexic much?" and everyone lauphed. ;_;

You know, when she stepped on the scale, I didnt say anything about her being heavy, how can people be so mean?! ;_;

After that, we did blood pressure, and when people put the cuff on me, they kept saying things like, "It's hard to get the cuff to fit around her TEENEY little arms!! I noticed today that my forearms are smaller than my elbows, SHIT!!! That's GROSS!!!

everyone probably thinks Im one of these starving freaks now, I dont want to look anorexic!! Those people look horrible! I've got enouph trouble trying to get people to like me without looking like an escapee from auswitz! I didnt even notice untill she said that, how come I didnt notice? SHIT!!!

Agh!! People suck! Just what makes a girl pretty, anyway?!?!

If I figured it right your BMI is 16.3, which is underweight. If I were a doctor I'd prescribe some medicinal marijuana, chocolate milk and cookies. You have the body proportions of a model, so everyone is probably a little jealous of you. But they joke around you so they probably like you too.

I agree, it sounds asthough other people are jealous of you. As the saying goes "You can NEVER be too rich or too thin!".

The most important thing is that you are happy with yourself. If you feel too slim, perhaps see your doctor who I am sure will beable to give you some advice about safe weight gain.

As for pretty girls, they only ever have one thing in common, they believe they are! I hope these people have not upset you too much, I repeat, they are very jealous of you.

:/ that sucks. It's very rude of them to say those things about your weight. It's also good though, because it put your image of yourself into perspective, right?

If you want to gain weight, check your basal metabolic rate and then, ya know, do what it says to gain weight. :p :

It should help. Focus on your eating. It's not healthy to be underweight, or overweight. I hope you don't let the things those people said really get to you, people can be really insensitive.

Yes, people in general suck! Most "pretty" people suck more, with some exceptions, as with every rule. :p
Lots of things can make a girl beautiful! And opinions of what those things are will vary greatly depending on who you ask. For me, it's strongly connected to personality. I find people with a crappy personality less beautiful. But I also like some physical traits, like beatiful eyes, and thick, brown hair.

I have the opposite of your problem. When I was depressed, I'd eat way too much, and gain too much weight. To take control of your own body, you basically need to turn eating right into a job. I don't eat when I'm hungry anymore. I eat just a little fruit or crisp bread every 3 hours, like clockwork, even if I'm not hungry.
For you, I'd prescribe nuts! Nuts are a healthy source of fat and carbs, and they taste soooo goooood!
Eat whenever it's time to eat. Even if you're not hungry.

What makes a girl beautiful to me is a combination of her physical appearance and personality. And still if the girl is amazingly beautifully and lacks a lot of personality or it just stinks, thats a big turn off. Girls personalities always make them beautiful.

Sometimes people think it's okay to make comments about peoples' weight openly, when it's a thin person they are talking about. Mostly, people wouldn't say something like 'Wow, I don't think this cuff will fit around her wrist!' to an overweight person. But, I guess, since we value thinness in society, people might not realize that it's wrong or they might think they are subtley appraising you or trying to make you feel good. We don't realize that not ALL people are happy with being thin or that it's desirable to them. I really doubt that they were trying to be intentionally mean (except maybe for the anorexic comment, which was harsh.)

Exactly. noblame4, you should take what happened in your class as compliment.

If someone were criticising you in front of everyone about something bad in you, people wouldn't be as bad as to laugh at your face. You shouldn't be ashamed that you're slim, since the people in your class weren't ashame to laugh at your condition since they thought that you had no problems and even enjoyed it.

Hey, thanks for being so sweet, everyone. (really though, I never looked like a model, I've always kindof favored a sloth. 0_o)

Man, it's a bitch to manage your weight!

I went to the grocery store and bought up some healthy (sort of) food to eat for a couple of days, (lasagna? Pasta's carbs. Tomatoes are fruit, cheese is dairy.) and nuts and some icecream for good measure.

I live with my mother, she's kindof overweight and recently decided to go on a diet, and when I got home yesterday, she had eaten my whole lasagna, half my ice cream and was starting on my cashews!! >_< First thing she said was, "Hey. Why're you trying to skrew up my diet?!"

I told her about the thing in class, and she agreed that I'm too skinny lately. Today she went to the grocery store on the way home from work and got me some of those weight gain shakes for old people.

They taste okay, but there's like...chunks in it. >_<

Wow I never realized that I wasnt the only person who can not eat when nervous or having an anxiety attack. Ive actually developed a repretation I mean people can accurately tell my mood by whether I am eating or not.

Also like you i have alwayse been thin. People use to call me bones for most of my life. Lately I have been gaining weight whiles looking thinner. Yes I know that makes absloute no sense.

I think your class mates ment no harm but its hard to determing with out viewing how they said it. I hear when people tease you it means they like you.LOL The whole city must like me.LOL

I think the main reason you are upset is you were in the dreaded spotlight. If they did it in private it probaly would not of felt so bad.
