Hi so I just joined this site, looking for some advice or insight into agoraphobia I've had it for a while which has affected my ability to work, go to school and leave my house. I was wondering if anyone out there has had the same problems and if they found any therapy/techniques that helped them through it or worked. I've heard of aversion therapy but haven't had it. Any advice or experience would be great. ~Thanks :)

Aversion therapy is more for people with addictions and sexual deviant's. Also this form of therapy can increase anxiety....that's a no no.

" Practitioners have found that in some cases, aversion therapy can increase anxiety that actually interferes with the treatment process. In other instances, some patients have also experienced anger and hostility during therapy.

Aversion Therapy - What Is Aversion Therapy

Personally I have done Cognitive Behavioral Therapy , groups and
ISTDP (Intensive short-term dynamic psychotherapy). Like any other therapy these are all good if you stick with the exercises......
