Afraid of people

I have been afraid of people ever since I was sixteen. I use to sing in front of the my church and that all changed. I couldn't even be in the choir because I would get dizzy and shake from head to toe. I felt like an alien.
Now I get nervous when I get my hair cut. I feel like I am going to shake. I have a hard time meeting friends. Facebook has helped me because I can put my feelings out there without anyone looking at me. I am a lot closer to my highschool classmates. If I meet in real life it's soo much harder.
Does anyone shake, tremble or get dizzy like me?::(:

same here. i wasn't "current me" before but shaking and blushing come from nowhere and i'm battling aganist them for years.

i'm really understand you. it's sucks.

i don't know what turned us to this but i believe we can turn back! (i wanna believe at least)

Yeah im more confident and relaxed when im online because i dont have to face their facial expression in person and i can have an extra 1 or 2 seconds to think of reply, unlike in real life, i have to say something instantly which i struggle with.

you sound so like me in the past, i was like that, i wouldnt even offered my seat to a granny who was standing in front of me, because i was so extremely shy to move, but i was feeling guilty throughout the journey, and she was smiling at me. she was sweet.

and other things..

it gradually get better as you learn from it, i mess up alot because of my sa, but its the only way you learn how to social and interact the proper manner. it can only get better, isolation doesnt help.

Yeah I used to sing in front of people but I was so nervous it was absolute torture but my music teacher was really trying to push me to do it so I did it but I remember being unable to project my voice very well and it was so painful for me I stopped..I wish I could do it though :(

Dizziness or light-headedness is caused by hyperventilation. If you can control your breathing it should go away. The book "Painfully Shy" by Barbara Markway contains techniques to do this.
