oh, you really did make a thread out of it. So that's what he meant when he said the hard part was leaving?

I haven't really had this problem because I don't go out enough, especially in large group atmospheres to have to tell people i'm leaving. I've done it once though, I had to leave early at a sleepover at my school, I had to get a ride home in the middle of the night out of SA frustration. The lady that drove me really did not want to drive me... it was very awkward... and then everybody asks me why I left, I just said that I was feeling sick.

Sometimes it's hard just waiting for a lull so I can take off. If people are talking I can't just interrupt and say I've gotta go. I need to wait for the right moment and sometimes I'll end up sticking around quite awhile after deciding I should go just cause it's awkward leaving.

Yes I do this too, timing the moment is where it is at.

Often the moment is when someone else leaves, I've seen a whole room cleared out soon after one person made the first move!

For me it depends. If I truly have to leave than it's fine, it comes naturally and with no problem. If I am trying to make something up to leave because I am feeling uncomfortable than it gets tricky. I feel weird and nervous trying to choose the best moment and make sure there are no flaws in my excuse. In those situations usually I try to be one of the first people to leave because then it won't make a big difference and people won't notice it as much, it's easier ::.
