Hello, I'm a high school student who recently directed one of my first short films. When I was assigned to create a short suspense film for a class at my school, I decided to really tap into something personal to me and capture some emotions that I'm accustomed to: anxiety, dread, anticipation, in an honest way that would also add to the suspense element that was part of my assignment.

I directed this film with the intent of telling the story through the perspective of a character with social anxiety. All of the actors in this film were people from my class who I knew, and the lead actor in particular was a huge help because he also struggled with social anxiety and his suggestions and performance really captures what I wanted as a director. I'd like to hear feedback from you on how effectively elements, such as how SA can affect daily activities, were conveyed and if you could personally relate to it.

You can view my film, "Elaine", here.
