haha interesting. F-bomb is used speratically throughout, and then your signature is : "Jesus loves you" lol... i am not judging you just making an observation.

but i just want to say..

hey, its ok!!! you will be fine!!! I have a PRESENTATIOn tomorrow! I have to teach the class!!!!

And yes, i am stressed, and will probably be nervous before.

First thing, is accept that you will feel your nerves before and possibly during the interview. But know that you have important things to say and your nerves cant get in the way of that..

Drink water, stay hydrated, if you can, work out before. It helps your body breathe well and you will just feel better before if you get nervous.

When i would get REALLY nervous before presentations or interviews, i would listen to music before or as i walked to the building i was going to. I could just get lost in the music, not think about what i was about to have to do.

I know there are tips online about things you can eat or drink before that may make your body less "nervous" ... im sure you can find it- google.com

Remember that it is NORMAL to be nervous..

tell yourself you have had conversations before when you werent nervous so it is possible to not freak out in the middle of it. .. its just like any other convo.

SELF talk is REALLY important!!!!!

Good luck, you will be fine!!! Let us know how it goes. I hope i can say the same about my presentation !

Terrific advice Reholla and I wish good luck to the both of you, and I sincerely mean it. I also have a presentation tomorrow, roughly 17 hours from now, uh....like just thinking about getting in front of all of those people is putting me in the fight or flight mode right now.

Half of the class did their presentations on Tuesday and nearly every single person looked very nervous. And most of these people don't have SA like I do, so I can only imagine what I'm gonna look like up there, lol. I've been dreading this day all semester ever since the first day of class when the prof passed out the syllabus.

Anyhow, I went to my GP last week and got prescribed 4 pills of Klonopin, just in case, lol 4 pills (.25mg each). I'm not sure if I'm going to take a pill or not. My GP and the physician assistant there both told me that they had taken Klonopin for presentations and it slowed them down and made them drowsy, as if they were climbing up hill or something. They didn't recommend I take it, but then again, neither of them have SA.

Alright, good luck guys! You can do it :D

Distract yourself so you're not obsessing over it hours before it's gonna happen.

15 minutes is cake, it'll be over before you know it. like getting a needle in your arm. except this isn't nearly as painful. don't resist the nervousness, it's normal and healthy (or so i've read...somewhere)
Just bombard yourself with positive thoughts, even if you feel like crap and are scared shitless. Keep thinking positive, lie to yourself if you have to, it works trust me.

Or, go into zombie mode, not the flesh eating kind, the calm complacent kind. Nod, smile, jump through the hoops they put before you, and forget it's even a big deal at all.

Hope it goes alright for you.

HEY thats actually COMFORTING-- you see that others get nervous too, so it wont matter much if you are. What i freak out about is when everyne delivers a flawless speech and i have to match that. Our group is going TODAY (less than 2 hours)... and its the first day to present. So at least i will have it over, and wont have to compare myslef (at least before i go!)... what is always interestng to me is to see extremely outgoing people in class get up there and get realllllllyyy nervous. It just goes to show it happens to everyone. And actually earlier in the semester, we had GROUP presentations. We had to teach for the whole class time, but it was split up. So we had this baseball player in our group.. and he and i were waiting out turn to speak, and he said to me, "I have to go to the bathroom..." I was just like "ok go, ur not next.." So when he came back he informed me he just threw up.. : - /
The first thing he said to the class was, I am really nervous!
Our teacher was really nice about it... at least in our class, yeah you do feel intimidated by some people (we had like local celebs in there lol)... but thankfully most in there are not judgemental.

And thats usually the case. A lot of people when they see some one get nervous they have sympathy for them-- theyre not, oh wow what a screw up.

So anyway good luck to everyone!!!! Its just one of those things in life us SAers dread but it will feel great to have behind us!

LOL, yes it is quite comforting and reassuring to know that others get extremely nervous as well (even the talkative ones), that I'm not alone. I think I'll do ok, it's just the anxious anticipation leading up to the presentation is what really stinks. Can't wait to finally get it over with. Let us know how things went, good luck.

So yeah, I'm sitting here at the computer finishing my outline and going over my presentation. Just 3 short hours until the doomsday event for me. I am starting to fidget and can already feel my limbs getting that weak tingling feeling. Damn you SA! lol
