Today is the last day of spring break, and im terrified to go to school tomorrow. What if i start to hallucinate and start screaming and run out of the room or something?! What if i think people are talking about me and then i yell at them for no reason! what if i start mumbling to a non-existent person?!
I know its not going to happen, well i hope it doesn't... but there's still the what if part! What if it does happen, and i become hospitalized and get tied up and thrown into solitary confinement?! ahhh i don't want to go to school :eek::eek::eek:

Look at what you have wrote all the way through if says "What if.."The classic sign of anxiety you could try turning it around and What if I dont hallucinate and start screaming What if people dont talk about me and I dont yell etc. What if you go to school tomorrow you sit in class have a nice time enjoy the lesson talk to people and have a laugh and come home and write about how good youre day was on here.

I hope you have a good day on you're first day back.

Take a deep breath, tell yourself "it's not as bad as it seems, you'll see; it never is" and be proud of yourself when the day is over. It'll be fine.

Realize you have control over yourself. You had enough control to type those statements out on your computer, you have enough control to not freak out over nothing. Fight the fear, open a can of whoopass. Pull yourself together you're a ****ing human being bro.

Remember that your panic is just a chemical / electrical reaction in your brain, whereas you - your body - is a much more solid thing and can just... sit there, while the panic is happening. Let the panic happen if it must, but just sit there as if all is normal while it does. The thing about panic is it can't last very long. So if you feel panic coming, let it run its course, and then get on with whatever you were doing before.

Be like a rock in a fast-flowing river. The water can run as fast as it wants, but you don't have to. You're solid enough not to be moved.

I hope the new term works out for you and good luck, although I don't think you need it. Show 'em your skills!

Wrong.

The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 10 characters.

I'll hold that an extreme feeling such as anger or panic can only last a short length of time due to the physiological effects - they're for making you make a snap movement/judgement. They're fight or flight instincts. Even if the OP continues to worry after the initial panic, I still say that the initial feeling will calm down to a reasonable degree.
