Skype/talking on phone = anxious ??

sigh. I haven't been around lately...It's like a mid life crisis or something I am going through. That's for another discussion, lol.

I've been getting anxious over the silliest things - skype for one. Not a huge deal, but I feel dumb feeling this way. For some reason, it makes me anxious. A person I know who lives in another state likes to skype, but I tend to fluff them off (bad, I know) and tend not to skype. Writing this, I realize I should just tell the person that it makes me anxious.

It started when I got in touch with an old classmate friend of mine who lives far away. (thought it'd be good to reach out instead of closing myself off - kind of therapeutic). But every time she wants to skype or talk on the phone (hate that too) I get anxious.

Has anyone experienced this? Is there a 'reason' - or even helpful info or 'cure?

I am totally OK with texting but this weird thing is just some silly annoyance, but I really want to communicate better

It's quite common to feel uncomfortable speaking on the phone and on skype, the best way to deal with it is to try to push yourself and answer the call even if you don't want to
