Large Beards

Do any of you guys (or ladies?) have really large beards?

Beards like Zach Galifianakis's, or Heron of Alexandria's or even Merlin's!

I want to grow one that amazing one day, but I often scare myself in the mirror after a few weeks and have to give up.

For those of you with beards, does it make you feel awesome?

yes, my beard makes me feel awesome

but I keep it trimmed short - #3 on the clippers

It'd be awesome to have a beard like Merlin's or someone.

Alas, I am female and cannot grow one.

I'm getting there. I've got about 3 months growth now. Personally, I absolutely love it! I just love catching glances of myself in the mirror and seeing this big old beard on my face! It's really fun and I feel much more like "me".

Unfortunately I've had some mixed reactions from other people which has quite surprised me. I've actually had some looks of disgust from some people!....but loads of people comment on it all the time....even people I've never spoken to before! It's difficult to tell what people think, whether they're being nice, or kind of making passive-aggressive hints. But it's good cause it's made me realise that I don't care what people think. It's actually quite fun to see how ruffled up some people get over a little bit of facial hair!

But yea, I'd say go for it, and sod what other people think. Unless you have a job where your appearance is important, that could be tricky. My beard looks really dodgy! It's kinda patchy on the sides and doesn't grow very thick. Plus it's bright ginger, while my hair is brown! But it doesn't look too bad, it's slowly filling in and thickening up. Plus I don't care, I love growing my beard!
