Is SA rational?

Do you think that SA is rational? Do you believe that it is reasonable for a person to fear and avoid social situations, considering that there are a lot of rude, mean or judgmental people in the world?

Or do you believe that the fear of social situations is irrational?

(by social situations, I mean social interaction with people out side of family and friends.)

Any phobia is irrational. There are, indeed, bad people in the world, but a non-phobic person would not let that get in their way.

yeah, I think your right.

I guess that I tend to try to rationalize my fears sometimes, by telling myself that there is noting wrong with avoiding social interaction because of the amount of cruel or judgmental people in the world. But fear of being insulted by someone should not keep me from being able to leave my home. Maybe I also tend to perceive the world as crueler then it actually is.
