Help To Overcome Anxiety

Hi all

I know I'm not a regular contributor to this forum, but I hope you might forgive me.

My son suffers from 'social anxiety', and shyness. (more so shyness) and it's so sad to see him not being able to express himself, and to enjoy situations where I know as a lovely and attractive person, he would thrive.

I would so like to help him cope with what is a huge and sad problem for him, right now.

So I decided to research and try to produce something that would help him and many others.

I'm putting the finishing touches on a new product called "How To Overcome Social Anxiety," and want to make sure that I don't leave anything out.

So, will you let me know your biggest question about how to overcome social anxiety or shyness. It could be anything... even if you think it's silly.

All you have to do it type your question in a box that I have set up for me to collate the answers.

I never suggested anything about CBT, therapy and medication just "hitting the dust", as you put it .. just that I was trying to help.

There are always many ways to help.. Just as there are many ways to travel.. perhaps by car, perhaps by rolfcopter, what you say EasySkankin2, you and EasySkankin1 want a ride, EasySkankin2 bring EasySkankin3 as well eh?

I am sure that by drawing your clever helicopter picture you walk a little taller in your own little world today. Good for you.

I hope you gain strength with your ridicule.. it makes you a brave person, oh and good person obviously.

To alleviate your concern, I am after what real people who suffer from Social Anxiety or shyness want to have answered.

I am researching for my article and book., and it seemed to me to be the best way.. to ask the very people who are directly affected and concerned.

No one at all is obligated to leave their email address.. But if you do I will send you my book when it's completed.. That's all. Nothing more, nothing sinister. Sorry to disappoint anyone who's looking to find something more than the truth..

I want to write a book to try to help out people.. I will sell it, but no one has to buy it. I just want to make it good.. by asking people who know.

If you can help me.. thanks, I will help you back by sending you a book.

If you don't.. thanks anyway, for at least keeping this post up and giving me the opportunity to get some real research.

Just to further add..

It has struck me as really touching because I have had many questions posted. Good honest decent questions from normal people.

I would guess that some of those - in fact I know that a lot of those came from people on this forum.

People who participate in and on this forum everyday.. and yet still have those burning questions they would like answered. Some are in depth detailed questions. Not trivia.

If I can in some way find at least answers or partial answers to those surely to goodness that is a good thing..

Why in this world are we always looking to find the bad in something, before we've even considered the good?

I would like to thank everyone who has posted up a question. And to you I promise I will do my utmost to try to find an answer for you.

I am just wondering what qualifications or experience you have to produce a product that would be of help to us?

Also, there are some very bright people out there who have come up with their own products (past Social Anxiety sufferers who also studied psychology). So it's difficult for me to see how a fellow "averae Joe" would create anything better. Besides, there is plenty of information/knowledge about Social Anxiety that you probably don't need us asking you questions or giving you information.

Unless, you have thoroughly done your research, are a bright person, know what you're talking about and really are onto something here. Which, as I have stated, I personally think is very unlikely. But I like to be surprised... so surprise me if you can (I would love it ).

And GL with this, regardless of its intention or potential. Hope your son turns out allright (it's no big deal if it's just "shyness" - my brother had mild social phobia and he got over it on his own) if he's still young.

This whole thing has scam written all over it. I can sense it. I know Internet marketing when I see it.

Ok Danrogers, can you tell me why the name on the bottom of the survey link is stated as Darrell Darrell? perhaps you should have put more thought into your fake aliases. Fail Danrogers.

Like I always say (or wish I could always say because I can't as a Social Phobic), if it sounds or looks weird, don't do it.

If this is real or not, I do not care. Like I said, there are many others who have come up with real/proven products, many of which have been produced by people with degrees/education in psychology. That it would make this aforementioned product obsolete. Unless this is a truly product worthy of awe, which would make us all look like idiots .

In either case, I think it's up to each of us to decide .
