developed social anxiety

Hello,
I was wondering, is it common, or possible to develop social anxiety? I never used to have it, ..during high school, or as a child. Recently I've isolated myself due to bipolar symptoms, and agoraphobia. Now being on the bus, ordering food at a restaurant, saying anything, to anyone in class feels very....unpleasant. I feel that I simply can't. don't really know what to do. Any advice would be great.

Keep exposing yourself to the things you're afraid of. If you hide and seclude yourself from the rest of the world, it'll keep getting worse. Anxious about going to the grocery store and facing the cashier? Go anyway, and force yourself to say hi. Anxious about saying hi to your friendly neighbours? Say hi anyway, with a smile.

Above all, be kind to yourself. Don't be mad at yourself for being anxious, or for things that seem so trivial to seem so hard for you. Even if your anxiety is telling you not to do something because it's scary, do it. And be proud of yourself each time.

yes, thanks, I agree. I went to a party a couple of days ago and started hyperventilating. It wasn't fun. If that's the only way to get through it oh well. I suppose there is no way around that.
