Seeing a 'shrink' for the 1st time... Can I settle payment in clinic?

How does it work?
They told me to bring my insurance and all that. But they weren't sure as to how I would settle payment. They told me that I was going to be billed?

Can someone tell me how this works? I really want to keep this discreet from my folks.

That's the thing. I don't want them to bill me. I don't want my family to know. Is there a way where i can have them settle in clinic or something?

Please suggest. I"m really nervous and battling this myself. =(

Let them know that you are nervous about that. I am sure they can help you out

I also just started going to a "shrink". I just pay cash at the end of the session. She even asked me if my parents or doctor may know I'm there and she made a point of not telling my doctor anything since I don't want him to know. Just tell him/her you don't want anyone to know and they will respect that.

I'm sorry - I misunderstood.

yes, you should be able to pay there

and like others said, just tell them that you don't want anything being sent to your home

they should be able to make other arrangements for you

I guess I should go for the sake, but I feel like it's not going to help me. I'm just born w/ this sweat thing..
