Fear of Death = Fear of Life?

Is anyone else so afraid of dying that it makes them afraid of living because if you don't do anything accidents are less likely to happen and it could prolong your life? I am. I've read so many times people saying oh I have these dreams that I want to do someday but it seems like its never going to happen. Well at least you have those dreams, the only thing I've ever really dreamed of was when I was 6 I wished I would get knocked into a coma and wake up when I was 21.... I wonder if amnesia would cure anxiety.

Not really, I believe in destiny and faith, if it meant for me to die, then it will happen, it could be just a heart attack inside my room, you just can't run from death, if you let that fair control your life, everything would be scary, i think of it this way, if something meant to happen it will happen, there's no way around it, thinking like this kinda set you free, i was the same at first, i remember when i got my first motorcycle, i was scared of riding that thing, but not anymore I have been riding my motorcycle for 5 years now, I had 3 accidents, I still have a small scar on my back, and a knee that hurts from time to time when it's cold. things like that happen, try to think like this and make peace with everything that could go wrong when you're out there, and you will start to feel better and not as scared as you used to be, it worked for me, and hopefully it will work for you too. :)

Life is a tool to help other people. To serve God. If you are selfish, then you are afraid of dying... and of living. There is no greater love than to lay down your life for your felllow man; so if you are serving other people, and you die during the course of that sort of life -- then you have lived a worthy one and shouldn't be ashamed. Don't be afraid of life or death, it is a big adventure, and the more you help others and serve God, the more worthy your life is.

I sometimes think like this. I never want to die! Ever...I don't know what's out there and I don't want to know! I want to experience everything on Earth that I can before I kick the bucket.

With that said, I don't stop doing things to prevent myself from possibly dying. I just play it safe by wearing my seat belt, eating healthy, driving safe, avoiding alcohol in dangerous situations, staying away from drugs...etc. :p

Accidents are going to happen everywhere...The best thing to do, I think, is to live safely and enjoy life.

I think it is easy to overcome a fear of death. There has to be end to something because what is the point of a beginning.

But it is harder accept the possible pain that surrounds dying and the thought of those who will miss you.

The fear of these two things will prevent you from living. It's not that you fear life per se.

I recommend to believe in reincarnation- you will born again if you die. And if live good in your present life your next life will be better. Also as I know something about Tarot cards, tad 13 card "Death" does not mean complete end but beginning of new start. That Judeo-Christian-Atheist teachings make you fear from failing and dying, but if you consider life as a game and cycle you may not fear the end so much.

We are afraid of getting harmed thats why we are afraid of living, the fear of being harmed is also related to the fear of dieing by some unseen event! All fears are the fear of dieing.
