Hi all, im new to the site and wondered if there are any other driclor users in here that could give me advice. Iv been suffering from excessive armpit sweating for many years. Around 4 years ago i discovered driclor, it stopped me sweating completely but now out of the blue its just stopped working. Im sure you can all understand how frustrating this is, i thought id found a cure for life but now im back to the way i was before. I tried not using it for 1 month and tried again but with no luck. I was wondering if anyone has overcome this problem before? Any help will be greatly appreciated! Im going crazy here:mad:
Thanx

I started using Driclor only about 6 weeks ago so can't help you unfortunately. But what I have found is that it has certainly helped reduced sweating on my hands, feet and particularly my armpits. The improvement in the armpits was almost instant, after 1-2 applications. Even the hands and feet have improved dramatically after a few weeks.

I was sceptical when my doctor recommended this, as I had gone to him asking for a referral to see a dermatologist about an iontophoresis machine. I would like to encourage other people to try Driclor as it is really cheap and has helped me so far. It does dry up the skin a lot though, but this is a small price to pay for the benefit.

How often are you using it? You are supposed to drop it to once a week as maintenance after the initial few weeks of daily application.

I only used it once every 2 weeks so im not sure why its suddenly stopped working. I would encourage people to try it to because it really does work(at least for the first four years). Im a bit lost without it now, really wish it would start working again. Thanx for your reply btw:eek:)

Yeah far out, that would be frustrating. Unfortunately I'm no help as I've been using Driclor for nearly 2-3 months every night. My underarm HH is so strange, I get to the point where I feel it's almost nearly under control, so I stop using Driclor for one night and it's worse then the previous day?

I thought it would gradually partially clog and shrink the pores but for some reason my underarm HH is different.

Do you have any tips?

I can't say I can give you tips since I'm new in this. But I can share my experience: after using it daily for 2-3 weeks, I dropped it to once every 3 days or so and noticed the sweating possibly got slightly worse, including the armpit sweating. So I started to increase the frequency of application last week and I'm waiting to see what happens. Maybe for some people they have to keep using it more frequently than once a week which is the instruction.

Nini, I wonder if you should try stopping it again for longer than a month to see if you will respond again to the treatment?

Hi!

I've been using the product for more or less 5 months. It was recommended to me by my dermatologist. I apply it every 3 nights. During the first few months, I found that the product really worked like a miracle. After only one application, the sweating completely stopped. As a hyperhydrosis sufferer, I felt so glad that there is such a thing as driclor in this world. That way I wouldn't have to have botox injected or undergo any surgery.

BUT,

These past few days, I noticed that its effects started wearing off. Before, I apply it once every 3 nights. Before, the day following the first night of application, I would be completely dry and sweat free in the underarm area no matter how much I sweat on all other parts of my body. But now, my armpit feels kinda moist and a little wet (although not that much) even though I applied it only last night!

Just like any other medicine, I believe that driclor's effects wear off. I am not a doctor nor a medical student, but I believe that as the body gets used to certain medicines, it gradually becomes "immune" to it. Take drinking coffee for instance. The first time you try it, you feel all jumpy, energized and awake. But as you get used to drinking coffee all the time, eventually you'll start noticing that it doesn't give you that strong of a kick anymore.

You're lucky that you were at least able to fully enjoy four years of your life sweat-free with the use of driclor.

My advise is for you to stop using it for a while. Allow your body to "breathe" even for just a month or so and then, apply it again. Observe if it would work again. Or perhaps you can try switching anti-perspirant brands. If it doesn't, maybe it's time for you to consult a dermatologist. My derma explained to me that there are three steps to stop excessive underarm sweating. One is the use of strong anti-perspirants such as driclor or certain dri. If it doesn't work, there's still botox (although it can only stop the sweat for 5-7 months). If botox still doesn't for the patient, the last solution is surgery. Yes, that procedure to remove the nerves and all that. Sounds quite scary though.

I know it's frustrating. I feel the same way too. Underarm sweating had really ruined my social life. And I don't want to ever go back again to that person that I was months ago. I have made it my life goal to continue searching for solutions for hyperhydrosis.
