Does paced, diaphragmatic or mindfulness breathing help reduce excessive sweating?

Hey guys! Pretty much the title says it all. I was wondering if any of those would help with excessive sweating in social situations.

I've had a negative experience where I was late coming to see a movie with some friends and I had to pick up the pace while travelling in the subway. I got lost a couple of times trying to get from one side to another and worked up a sweat. I tried to calm down a bit, but I found myself wiping the the sweat with my hand. That kind of sparked some anxiety. I thought, "I should have a towel for this" or "People are gonna think I'm disgusting, I don't want to touch the handle now". Those negative thoughts kept me on edge and I found myself sweating more than ever as I got into the subway. By then I was sweating profusely. The sweat just coming down my face, over my eyes, down the sides of my forehead. My anxiety shot up so high I wanted to leave the subway on the next stop, but I persevered and kept going to my destination (wrote all this in my thought diary).

So yea back to the question, does any kind of breathing exercise work for excessive sweating?

For me, doing breathing exercises does not work immediately. I sweat profusely on my back and nose. When I sweat profusely, I usually can't control it even with breathing exercises. I have to wait for my whole body to calm down before the breathing exercises can take effect.
