Desire for the opposite sex

My desire for the opposite sex is decreasing as each day passes. I believe with age comes a sense of peace and calm. I think it's possible to be happy without being in a relationship. You just have to focus on other things in life - there is so much more to life than the opposite sex. I'm really not saying this to console myself. What do you think?

I get what your saying and i agree you could be happy without a girlfriend/wife, not that it had to be a bad thing at all.

Like ive read Kien say, Not everyone is meant for relationships.

I think it's good to tell yourself that. I've done it...but eventually it may become a bit too hard to believe, especially when everyone else around you has eloped and you're still romantically uninvolved. By the time I hit my 40's and 50's I think I had better have something else in place to take my mind off of the fact that I don't have anyone to grow old with.

it's normal to lose some desire as you grow older.

I wonder if you take paxil, because it decreases your libido.

i thought about staying alone for the rest of my life, but i think i just can't. especially when you see that everyone else is happy with his woman, and you stay alone!javascript:emoticon('')

I wish I could give up that burning desire to be with someone, but it only gets worse as more time passes, really.

Lost desire.

I am rather disapointed with the attitudes of the previous posters. Nothing but doom and gloom.

Haven't any one ever heard the old stock saying that past performance is no guarentee of future performance. I mean jeezes we have all had a bad start but so what? We still have a long time before we reach the ripe old age of 100. Is every one saying that they dont think they can turn things around in the next 10yrs? You must believe that you can better or else you would not be on a support site.

Another thing that piss me off is when every one acts like all the couples they see are showing us the whole story. There is a reason for the high divorce rate right?

Being single or in a couple is not good or bad. Being single or in a relationship wont fix ours problems. If any of us find a parthner tonight we will still have our anxiety tomorow. Lets work on fixing the root of the problem then every thing might fall into place.
