Confidence failures

Does anyone have a cycle where you feel you have enough energy to pick yourself up and to attempt progression? It feels great but doesn't last long and before you know it, you're in the dumps again trying to get out. As rarely as it comes, I know I need to make the most out of it and to prolong it as much as I can.
Staying positive is key but really, from experience it's extremely hard from tackling SA everyday and keeping a positive mind, hence as the cycle continues your confidence deepens.
What helps you stay positive and to not let you back into your depressed episodes?

I know a lot of doctors would call that bipolar but in my case I find it has a lot to do with diet. I get a little down when I've got this big fat stomach and I just don't want to see anyone. Forgive me for stating the obvious but my energy goes up when I eat my greens

yeah definetely.i love days like that.i think the important is to make the best out of them and give your best cause you can't be positive all the time and you can't have the same energy all the time. Also i don't think depression can be avoided.I usually try to be as less self destructive as i can when i am depressed and waitiing to get a little better.I think with time and as you make the best out of the 'good' days depression will just go away

I know the feeling. But my positive moments still aren't enough to give me the courage to get out there and meet people etc.

I am making "small steps" and trying to progress.

But i worry i wont get far enough.

Well, all we can do is hope. Actually, the best we could do is take action and just go out and do things. But its not that easy!

What keeps me positive is thinking of the times where I have had positive responses from people or the moments where I was feeling okay, instead of just focusing in on and blowing out of all proportion the moments when I felt embarrassed/anxious or when I thought people responded negatively to me.

It's easier said than done of course, but it does help me to be more positive.
