Building Self Confidence

To work at building your self confidence, you must be able to understand the aspects that effect you in your life first. Once you know where the areas you struggle and want to work on; only then you can be able to improve on yourself. Maybe a lot of you guys already know that but, I'm here to help people but also to help myself and find ways to relate to anyone. I'll say that self confidence isn't easy if you're always constantly thinking about the negative images you place upon yourself. For example, I don't think I'm attractive or I can't fit in with anyone because I'm different. If anything, having the loss of confidence can happen when something eventful happened in your life that someone might of did or said; possibly both. Whether it was from bullying, to family issues, or maybe even social cues that triggered it; it all depends on how much you fulfill the things that you did in your life. The more you believe in others to stomp on your tracks or the more you think that whatever you say nothing will come out of it; then that's where you begin to lose your confidence. True confidence comes from the heart and following the things that you truly love to do and believing in yourself. However confidence can lead to many different type of sections depending how you gain and use it. Like some who have a lot of confidence can be very egotistical though I'm not implying that all ego people are selfish. I'm just saying that some may have more pride in themselves then others and there's people who have confidence for the sake of taking commitment. Overall, I'm here on behave to hear about anyone who has been through difficult situations about their ways with pretty much anything. I'm quite open, I don't judge and I'm interested to learn more about the life of the social phobia world. :)

Good post :)

I like a quote from The Confidence Gap that says that first you must act confident, and then confidence will come. People often wait and wait for 'the right time' ("when I lose weight, when I get braces, when I gain some muscle, when I get a raise, when I hit [insert age here]", etc, and they end up waiting their whole lives and never get to do what they wanted.

Thank you for inspiring posts. The whole forum is inspiring for me, because I see that I am not alone who suffers with the problem. I do a lot of work in my professional carrier because I know that I am capable of many tasks, where others fail. On the other hand I am quite passive i my personal life, because I don't feel worthy.
I presumed that I am worse than others and not perspective partner for women. I have decided to change this attitude. I know I will do many mistakes, but I need to do them to learn a lesson.
I trust that my approach will make no harm to others. Well, that is the only reason which still holds me back. I want to avoid hurting others when I make any misjudgement.

Thank you. I am building my confidence right now. I think it's both a practice and a process. If you tell me 5 years ago that I would still be shy today, I would believe it but now, I feel less shy and now I'm blooming out of my shell.

I'm glad you're interested about the life of social phobia world! Welcome Cetnien and to other new members too! I believe that God is first. Once you believe and have faith in God you know you have a purpose in life and that he loves you and that gives you confidence and rather than always feeling sorry for yourself you know that God will take care of you and take you through any challenge and that there's a reason for your trial.
