They really are quite the nifty pill for those who deal specifically with panic-associated anxiety. What you are experiencing is the wear-off effect (somewhat like alcohol, though not directly correlated). What happens is that you will gradually return to your 'normal' state as you were before taking the pill, which you will be more 'aware' of then you were before. Its like eating vanilla all your life, and then you taste chocolate, then you go back to vanilla, and it just isnt the same. That is what happens after your benzo wears off. The benzo is making you feel great, calm, collected, confident, etc...then that all wears away. What is best is to stay away from benzos such as xanax, which has a quick and very high 'high' and then drops off quick, so you will crash back into your normal state and feel it very much so. Some drugs such as Klonopin is a slower release, gradual high and very slow decline, so that by the time your body is rid of it (6-12 hours completely about) you have the potential to feel nothing different, both because it wears off so slow, and because it has possibly triggered some placebo affects that you carry on after it stops working (by believing its still working, or just simply carrying on your relaxed state of mind). Hope this helps!

I feel very scared and anxious right now. I want to cry. I have to take another Benzo. oh my god. Its like i dont know what to do with myself. I feel like a crack addict.

Even I get craving for Klonopin..I only take .50mg twice a week or so.Day 1 is great..Day 2 is nice too..Day 3..Im irritable and sad..I just crave for it so badly..but then i push myself and manage to do without..but yeah I do get a craving for it..It would last for a day or so but goes away..its not that hard to quit :) I'd say Klonopin is tempting..but not that habit forming..Soon u get over the craving

They are extremely addictive, and the long term damage associated with them is NOT worth it, especially for women. They are prescribed short term only, and any doctor giving them out long term should not be allowed to prescribe them in the first place. The side effects are less worrying than the long term damage of taking such things.

For social phobia/social anxiety, the only magic pill is the one nature gives you, and that is the ability to change, adapt, and survive in a new environment. Finding the method to do the above, is the hardest part, when irrational thinking is a key thing of social phobia.

These drugs are only to be taken for a short while to help overcome your social phobia, and find a moment to rationally figure out a solution. If willpower alone can't do it, the magic pill might boost your chances, but you have a window of chance.

I have seen the effects of long term usage on several females, on the physical and psychological level. Depending on any pill to sort problems is the first step to a spiral that leads downhill. It's not the pill that does the fixing, it's you..remember that ;)
