Avert vs Robinul (cost/effectiveness)?

I'm sorry if this has been asked, I did a search and read a bunch of threads but they didn't really answer my questions, or I might have missed it.

I just tried Avert off of pharmacy.ca and I've had great results right off the bat so far, it's like i have a whole new lease on life. So I'm gonna stick with the medication for the foreseeable future. I just have a couple of questions for people that have tried both Avert and Robinul, or even just Robinul.

1) Is there a big difference in effectiveness between the two? Did one work better than the other? Or are they pretty much identical? Same side effects?

2) What's the cost of a Robinul prescription? Avert seems like it'll run me about $84 a month if I get 100 2mg pills. Which I don't really mind paying. I think I could probably get more than a month's use out of that amount. The thing is, I don't have insurance, so I'll be paying out of pocket. Also having to renew my subscription from a doctor would probably incur some costs as well. Would I just be better off ordering the avert from pharmacy.ca? Or is Robinul substantially cheaper, if at all, to consider going and getting a prescription?

I live in California, just to clarify. Thanks to anyone who may have information. This is a great community. :)

I was under the impression that they where the exact same thing, just one is a brand name of it. I could be wrong though. As for the expense - I feel your pain! I can't get it on prescription (in fact you can't even get it over here at all) so I gotta pay full whack for it and pay to get it shipped to Britain. Totally worth it though

I can't say anything about comparing costs, especially in the U.S.

But, Robinul and Avert are the SAME THING. Avert is the Canadian brand name for glycopyrrolate, Robinul another brand name for the same med.

oh ok. that's what i figured. but my biggest concern between the two is cost.

i looked at a couple of sites that supposedly have prices for prescriptions, and they all say that it's around $300

if that information is legit, i guess i'm sticking with avert

Ask a doctor (probably a dermatologist) about getting prescribed glycopyrrolate itself (i.e. the generic form of the drug). I do have insurance, so I only paid $10 for 100 1mg pills. I don't know what it would cost w/o insurance, but it could certainly end up cheaper than ordering the brand names (Avert or Robinul) from a website.
