YouTube - Music and Life - Alan Watts

Alan Watts is great. I apply this lesson by recognising that achievement is rather arbitrary - a human construct - and that day-to-day social humiliations and difficulties needn't be ruminated over too seriously. Life's there to be enjoyed. If you mess up a presentation or date, let it pass like a crashing chord in a piece of music - it may be uncomfortable but its ring will fade. Focus on being happy and helping other people be happy and see social difficulty as a minor inconvenience that's largely irrelevant in terms of squeezing as much out of life as you can.

Hmm. Starting to sound like a vicar. I'll now disappear to do something I like - drink strong British tea and watch an episode of Top Gear...

I just downloaded a 12 cd essential/best of Alan Watts compilation.

I love him, listening to him always makes me feel less depressed.
