Hi! :)

I wonder how it will be at me with making a career. I'm a teenager yet but I don't suppose that my phobia will disappear until that moment... :(

How it was at you? Have you got a good job? How do you manage to live normally? Does your job demand from you many contacts with people? And how it seems, generally?

Have any medicaments helped you in the most nervous situations?

Greetings :D for you!

Hi Marvolo,
Well im in the US, so we have a high degree of freedom in chosing
what college to attend and what subject you want to try. Here we
have the freedom to change our minds and try different interests if
we so choose. Even much older people can have the choice of returning to college and trying for a new career.
I'm not sure how things are in Poland, but if its like the US, then
I'm shure you could do well at school and find a good career.
I went to college and now have a very good paying job that
i'm good at. You just need to pick something that is known to
be more introverted. For example, engineers or computor programmings
are know to be more introverted people.
You probably would not want to be in a sales or marketing type
job...these require a high degree of people skills.

I work as an engineering technicain which is mostly
math and computer drawings. I can do the work and interact well
with other people as long as we stay on the subject of work. I've
never done any social things with my coworkers and kind of regret
it, but I don't really know how to be social so i avoid this.

It wasn't easy for me to attend college or find a job. I had to
really prepare myself for interviews and "psych" myself up.
but if I can do it, so can you.
Good luck and don't give up.

Hi Coalporter,

Thanks for such a nice post and the advices. :)

I enjoy that you've managed to find fine job.

Well, at us in Poland we also have quite wide choice. But, unfortunately, the unemployment here is factually high (I don't know how it is in the US) - so more go-ahead people have greater chances of being employed... And going for example abroad to work there is of course possible, but difficult to manage if having the SA...

But really - why don't try. But it doesn't frame as very easy thing... ;)

Nobody else has this problem? :?:
I've expected nearly avalanche of the replies... and there is only 1 (although very wise, I think).

Or maybe it's so unpalatable for you, that you won't even write about it?...

I would gladly know if the Coalporter's case is only a happy except, or maybe some more socially-anxious people have managed to achieve a good job.

Cheers! :D

To qwerty77, if you wanted to write here anything: please do not write any zjadliwych uwag w Twoim tradycyjnie żenującym stylu, because my eyes start hurting after reading it. :? Only nice, helpful and useful posts, please.
Cheers :D

i'll be looking for a job in the summer so it's too early for me to say

i applied to some last summer though & found it really hard to find anything appealing

i kind of wished i hadn't gone to uni, since i'm probably overqualified for many jobs, yet applying for grad jobs seems like a waste of time since i find it very hard to compete with other people who have much fuller CVs & much more confidence talking in interviews

i have had 3 part-time jobs though; one as a telecanvasser, one as a shelf-stacker & am currently working on checkouts

& though i've managed to cope, the social interaction with customers/colleagues has always made it impossible for me to actually enjoy being at work

the telephone one was probably the worst for me since i hate talking on the phone when i'm surrounded by other people

I'm leaving my job soon due to redundancy.

SP has prevented me from changing jobs in the past. I'm hoping that this will be the break I need. I don't want to compromise my choices in life forever having done enough of that already!

Time will tell, fingers crossed...
