I went to a strip club last night for the first time ever! I went with my friend Brian and it was fun :) i said hi to a girl who i think must have been a stripper near the bar area.I said i liked your outfit and she asked me to buy her a drink and wanted to know if i wanted a lap dance.I had to say no cause i had to leave in 10 mins :( cause we were getting a ride home. The place was so loud, i couldnt hear anyone .Fun though, i hate having to hide my anxiety though still.

I told the girl her my name and asked her name, she was called Tara 8)
I said to her i would come back next wednesday to get a lap dance omg what am i thinking hehe.

Should i go back next week?? to get a lap dance

Depending on what your anxiety is, visiting a strip club can be a good exercise in stretching yourself, socially experimenting, and facing your fears. If you have a girlfriend, make sure she knows about it and approves.

I had a ridiculous amount of social and sexual anxiety about women -- stemming from my Christian brainwashing which included puritanical rules and threats of hellfire for violating them. I have had a lot of anxiety-reducing experiences at strip clubs. I can't say that the anxieties have been obliterated from my mind through this process, but they are less.

The risk is that you overdo it at the strip club -- spending too much time and money there. Ideally you should learn techniques and confidences that you can apply in the real world -- learn how to buy a girl a drink, how to light her cigarette, how to compliment her physical appearance, how to accept rejection from girls, how to learn to reject them, how to make smalltalk, etc.

Tell the girls that you have social anxiety and are there to help you get over your anxieties, most girls are very sympathetic and will even start telling you about their own anxieties and struggles. Some dancers are there for the same reason you are -- to get over their feelings of self-consciousness and anxiety by having a job where they interact with others in an unstructure environment.

Again, it is good fun, but be MODERATE about it -- don't blow too much money, don't have sex with a prostitute, don't get drunk, don't get in a fight, don't get robbed. Don't use it to avoid real life.
