Venlafaxine

I've had SP for over 10 years now. I was only diagnosed last year. I was put on cipramil for about 6 months which did nothing for me (only made me put on lots of weight!) Then i was put on venlafaxine which I've been taking for just over a month. This doesn't really seem to be helping at the mo, so mr Dr has increased the dose to 150mg a day. Just wondered if anyone here has ever tried venlafaxine and if it has helped them???? :D

Wow, that sounds exactly like my situation! Except I tried Paxil for 6 months and found it only made me gain like 10 lbs. I seen my doctor a few weeks ago and he prescribed novo-venlafaxine xr. 150mg a day. I've only been on it a few weeks and so far I haven't had any side effects other than occasionally twitching. I read that it can take several weeks to feel the benefits of it so I'm hoping I will feel better soon. But so far I still feel very anxious in all situations. SAD is such a crippling disorder! I just wish people could understand what it's like to be in my head for a day. =(
