All those prescription drugs can make you manic, make you feal drugged, etc.
Ive tried allot of NATURAL things for this fealing and what I find works best than all the rest is--Epsome salts. You buy it at the store and put 2 cups in bathwater, and it will totally help you! i mean, it works.

I don't really think those 'remidies' will work very well honestly.... worth trying I guess.

There are alot of counsellors around that offer free counselling. Some only have basic training (and may not be equiped to deal with SA) but some have extensive training. I just seeing a counsellor who has training as a psychologist and she's really good.

If you talk to a local GP they should be able to recommend some good counsellors who don't charge anything.

Medication can also be very helpful. I've been on Efexor for over two months now and its helped me enormously. From what I've heard its the best anxiety/depression drug out there. It fairly new so alot of doctors haven't had much experience with it.

Exposure therapy has been the most effective treatment for me. And the great thing about it is you can do it by yourself, without a counsellor. Although it certainly helps if you're seeing someone to. All it involves is gradually exposing yourself to situations you find difficult. It's scary as hell, but the more you do it the more confidence you become in your abilities and the more you want to take the next step. It's working for me.

CBT is working for me so far. Then again, I'm only a few sessions in, so I haven't done any exposure yet. I think I'm gonna hit a brick wall on that one. I tried prozac but I had to stop taking it before it could start working, 'cause it was reacting with my other meds. I'm not allowed to use anything else, because I'm under 18.

i find counselling from a good psychologist to be the most effective..talking about and understanding how i get to have such a shit self perception.

You think you could figure this thing out yourself, i thought so through jouranal writing or whatnot..but having another person to validate your innermost thoughts gives you a kind of strength and new perspective..my socail anxiety and avoidance is totally rooted in my self perception, personally.
