To those who use Drionic H/F

I was just wondering, do you put your fingertips in the cotton pad of the well? My hands are small, so I prefer to put most of my finger in the well, and my fingertips touch the bottom. The manual says that it is not necessary to do so, which leads me to believe that the result is unchanged, but I wanted to know your experiences with this device. I don't like the idea of using Drionic for two weeks only to find out I haven't done it right.
