Your SA just gets a lot worse when...

... you're sitting with a friend, just chatting, when this schizo (he was) suddenly approaches us saying we've been threatning some kid with a gun and punches me in the face as hard as it gets.

And we were at a safe place. I'm usually very paranoid about everyone around me, and I was in a place where various groups of people were passing by to go to the local fair, but I was cool with it because it's a normal thing. This psycho just comes out of nowhere and doesn't even give us time to try settling him down and explain that we hadn't done anything. Ah well, you can't understand the mind of a schizophrenic.

My face was sore and swollen for about 3 days, and I was immediately advised to file a complaint against him. I didn't want to because I was afraid he might be there (and uh oh, he was) but I did it anyway... Everyone already knew him over there because he's a troublemaker.

He's a very strong guy and punched me really hard. A little lower and he could have fucked up my jaws or damage my teeth. I was worried about that but "luckily" it was straight in the cheeks.

I now bought mace and sometimes I have it in my pocket, but the paranoia just went up a lot, specially considering he doesn't live very far away and that he was walking down my street the day after it happened.

They probably sent him for psychological re-evaluation but they can't do jack about it. He's out there already as if nothing happened. That's what really bothers me. He just randomly picks on people and I'd hate to be hit again.

I had a similar incident happen to me.

It ain't on how people who do this carry on as if nothing ever happened, and they actually think such behaviour is within their rights. They have no idea of the psychological scars that they can leave behind.

I did report my incident, but the only witnesses there were, were reluctant to go along with me as they were appearing in court the next day(!!) Like Maggie said, as if we already haven't got enough to worry about.

Yes, that's true. I think he actually believed we had been threatning a kid with a gun and acted as if it happened. What I can't understand is how they just let them walk around like that when they can be extremely dangerous. You just can't understand what goes through the mind of someone with mental issues, just like "regular" people can't understand what it's like to have SA.
