like kkidd said, xanax isn't a long term drug. even with the time-release capsules, it won't work for an entire week. when i went to a specialist for my anxiety i was put on 1.5mg of xanax daily and he told me that he has patients taking up to 6mg daily. i didn't feel satisfied taking xanax. yeah it helped but it didn't "cure" my problem. drug addiction has been a reoccuring problem throughout my life so i decided to get off xanax completely and after almost 2 years i have never felt better. xanax works but use it as a step. don't rely on it. just use it to help you gain to the confidence to take anxiety head-on. find a specialist, someone who has a lot of experience with anxiety. you'll be surprised how much it helps.
