Who finds that their pet calms them? I had dogs most my life when growing up. I had a very nice beagle cross for 16 years. He was treated as a member of my family..like the youngest child. Manyyyyy people knew him and adored him. Secretly, i think he was an angel in disguise and i had to give him back to heaven. I was in a pretty messed up state of mind since childhood (in my mind), but when i adopted this beagle at 6 months, my focus was on raising him and keeping him happy and loved. That kept my mind off of my self, my worries, and on the puppies needs. In return, i truly did get man's best friend. At the moment, i cant keep another dog, since i rent and it wouldnt be fair to leave a pet all alone by itself for 8 hour stretches. I look forward to having another dog again, it was a great experience that taught me a lot of valuable lessons. OK, i see its sunny outside my window...time to go outside and enjoy the sunshine, wish everyone else they do the same. Bye! :D

Yea I find my cat purring on my lap to be really relaxing. Some thing about a cat purring I find so soothing. They give you unconditional love and all you have to do is feed them and walk them.

Yeah defiantley... when i had my doggy she calmed me down :) she just made life so much better in general tho.I used to be lazy with getting up.. but i loved her and wanted to treat her well so i would be up at 6-7 every morning to take her for a good long walk before breakfast, she was naughty in a mishchevious way and a total handfull :D but that did me good as it kept me on my toes and busy..Gave me a routine i didnt have before.. i never felt alone did me the world of good.

Anyway sorry for going on lol, i just miss her and have such good memories... They really are such good companions to have they can make a real posative diff in ya life.

My dog doesen't judge me, look down on me, or anything like that. She's this contantly happy little creature that constantly wants to be cuddle, play or go for a walk. She often also behave in ways that are funny and can bring a laugh out of me even when I'm at my worst.

Man's best friend.
(but cats are good too)

I love my pets, I do find they calm me, and I feel safe when I'm out walking my dogs because I know they wouldn't let anyone hurt me, and they're completely doting and loving. My cats are just so cute, small and affectionate (when they choose to be lol!!), I'm definately an animal kinda person :p

I have two dogs and three cats. I definitly find them relaxing. When I am mad, sad, or upset I can bring one of them in my room and lay down with them and just listen to them purr ( if it's a cat ) or breathe. I love animals so much. I want to become a vet assistant when I get older. :)

Hi!

I remember having a Beagle when I was younger! This was after my parents split, so I got very attached to him. He was sooo cute! He had long silky ears, two (surprise!) adorable eyes and big popcorn-smelling paws!
Although he was a big prank at times; chewing every pillow-case in the house, not to mention all my teddy-bears!:x)... I still loved him very much! :D

Although we walked him every day, he still wanted to explore the world on his own, so whenever he had the chance he escaped to always return the same day. One day he didn’t return…nor the next. We searched all over and hung up missing posters with his picture, but we neither heard nor saw any trace. I remember crying every single day and night, cause I missed him so much, but he remained gone…
Later we heard rumors that a farmer had shot him, 8O but till this day we don’t know what happened… Although this happened many years ago, I still get sad when I think about it.

Right now I live in an apartment too, in a small town, and we are not allowed to keep any pets or animals here. But when I move I will definitely get a new dog..or two!

That's a sad story. :( Damn farmers! *shakes fist*
My parents used to have two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels (puh!). That breed is plagued by heart problems, and they both had to take meds. Anyway, they got fairly old, but once one of them died, the other died three weeks later, maybe out of sorrow?

Here's another beagle!

Hi cLavain!

Sorry about your parents dogs! I guess animals grieve just as much as humans!

I got a little depressed writing and thinking back on my dog, but you managed once again to put a smile on my face! :D Thanks!

So Snoopy is really a Beagle?! Cool!! :D
