I have Win XP Professional , regularlly updated with autopatcher.
From protection tools i have installed : AVG antivirus, AVG antispyware and Kerio's personal firewall.

Despite protection , machine doesnt work very well. I should clean registry but i dont know which tool to use (I used to do it with RegSupreme but it messed base one time-i had backups fortunately).

Maybe to do defragmentation? First i should make some free space on HD ,coz it is said that 10 percent should be free.

The fact that annoys me with defragmantation is that it last SO LONG.

Do you wear protection "down there"? Cyber Chlamydia is on the rise in North America.

PC DOS 2.0

sabbath , what is the point of this reply?

nostalgia?

Actually I still use the MS-DOS window in Windows XP and Vista, for directory searches and stuff. It seems in Vista I can't access my own files in the My Documents folder using Windows Explorer. I can only access those files using the DOS window, weird. DOS commands I still use: dir, cd, chkdsk, type, find, more, copy, xcopy, move, del, ren. New ones: ping, ipconfig.

Was it the most recent version of DOS , 7.0?
Hm..Yes, i remember those commands..and 'md' i think was for making dir

Windows will always have some problems because of a bad API that MS made for it 15 years ago

Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.

Every computer in the house has Ubuntu on it. My Mom's laptop, My Dad's computers in the office, (one is mostly used by my Mom), my My Dad's lended laptop which he hardly ever used has Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. I installed it, because it was failing, Linux brought it back to life. It has 10.04 LTS, because it is really old, and can't handle the latest OS. The rest of the computer have Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.

My Dad's main office computer, runs Windows as his main OS. His main computer, has two HDD's, one with Linux and one with Windows. The only problem with Linux, is that his accounting application (Simple Accounting) isn't compatible wtih Linux, and you can't import that data into any other app. I've tried. Also, the scanner doesn’t work, but strangely, the printer does. The scanner and printer is in the same machine. It's a printer, scanner, and fax combo. Everything else works.

Out of 6 computers in the house, only one that Windows exists.
