what is confidence

Don't you think confidence is kind of like a big wheel,It's quite difficult to get started but the more momentum it gathers the harder it is to stop.
For instance right now my confidence is low so it's quite hard to do things and when things go wrong they really get you down and things can easily come to a hault,But when i gradually build up my confidence over time and get it to a decent level, the things that bother me now wouldnt bother me as much in fact some of the things i wouldn't give a second thought. For instance going to the shops is quite difficult for me at the moment but about 2 years ago i would just do it with out thinking.
I think people with loads of confidence have just gathered so much momentum over time that it's like a big wheel rolling down a hill hurteling out of control and smashing anything that gets in it's way,and nothing can stop it.
Does that make sense to anybody

In my case confidence is like a roller coaster, sometimes up and most of the time down. I know I should be more conficence, no matter if I do things right I think I do they wrong. If people say good things about me I don't believe them. The day I accept it I'll win the battle and will be able to do things I don't dare doing now.

That makes sense. I like that idea too as it suggests by making the effort of getting the wheel moving again things will become easier and require less effort as it gathers speed, which is true and also encouraging.

Makes sense to me. You really get the hang of it when you get it started. Although, the faster it is, the harder is the crash, when some shit obstacle falls in front of you.

I think it is like what you said, but usually for me even much more rapidly changing. Sometimes even in a single conversation or when I used to go to parties if I had only one or more good interactions with people my confidence would go way up and i would feel completely different. I would always think I couldn't imagine what it is like for the people who almost exclusively have good interactions with people...

thats a great analagy, never thought about it that way. but it really makes sence though. I get short bursts sometimes but they don't really last long maybe half a day or something, I feel happier inside during those times, wish I could always feel like that. maybe I just need some oil on the wheel bearings to keep it rolling longer :D

i think confidence is gained from doing things that make you feel good about yourself. Eating right, excercising etc.
Confidence can be gained, but i guess it can be lost. We just have to find ways to get it back. We all have highs and lows, we just need to realize that we are as good as veryone else if not better.

We need to believe in ourselfs and don't let people put us down. Stay strong and hold our heads up high.

People put people down to build themselves up. That is what gives them confidence. Making people feel like shit actually makes them feel more powerful and secure. Just my opinion.

I am still trying to figure things out too.

Yea i feel that way alot, i guess the only way to keep the confidence stong is to always be aware of your past acomplishments, and overcoming situations.
