Ways to meet people

What sort of activities/hobbies are a good way for people with SA to meet new people?

Stuff that isn't too intimidating. I doubt that joining debating teams or the local amateur theatre company would be a good idea.

If anyone has any ideas please list them.

My idea would be for you to list the things you are interested in...

reading, music, gardening, art - whatever. Then check out the local paper, bulletin, whatever and see what's going on in the area.

eg. if you like art - visit some art galleries. Even if for the first time you don't talk to anyone. Just get comfortable - then after that see if there is some kind of group/club or whatever

also book clubs, movie clubs - really whatever you like.

If anyone on here is in their early teens or younger or even 15-18, buy a skateboard or a BMX and go to the skate park. So easy to meet people and so fun. I moved and went to the skate park and met a bunch of riders in the first week where live now. Some people might think it's stupid, but it a way to get creative and express yourself. My bike fills a gap i have in my life.
