Times anxiety forgot

I thought that it could be fruitful to start up a thread where members posted situations and times when they have felt the weight of anxiety lifted. You know, those situations and occasions when you forget that you have anxiety or when you manage to get past it and get lost in the moment.

So, at what times and in what situations have you felt an absence of anxiety? And, perhaps you could add your thoughts as to why you felt free from worry, fear and insecurity.

I have recently made friends with a group of three other people. I have to say that this is the first time in my life that I feel like I belong. I feel like an equal because they make me feel so much at ease. When I’m with them, I don’t feel anxious at all – in fact, I feel a lot better about myself.

This is a totally new experience because I’ve never had a group of real friends before. It’s given me a completely new outlook on life.

So, in short, I would have to say that, no matter where we are, I feel at ease. I can’t really explain why, I guess we just connect.

I find that I lose or have less anxiety...

-at a party where there is a special occasion and emphasis on having fun
-whenever there is felt to be little emphasis for me to perform well, including in the past, jobs and job interviews, or people I meet on holidays that I don't feel the need to be accepted by.
...basically, it is whenever I don't put pressure on my self to make friends and fit-in with people

Muffy baby!

Anxiety is weakened when:

i think about other people and their anxiety.

i remember my body is decaying moment by moment and how silly it is of me to not be enjoying every second of the day.

i LET GO of the 'idea' of who i think i am, when the body and mind are both momentarily fading away. So what is there to hold onto other than an idea????

i just be myself without hiding anything from anyone
