So I was thinking about mindfulness while doing exercise after I heard someone in the gym say to someone else to learn to control the mind while exercising. That was about a week or so ago, but I think I realized or connected some dots and have come up with perhaps a good idea about this subject and mindfulness.
Well I thought I was just kinda experimenting today while excercising. I tried to be mindful of when I was doing exercise. I haven't really read much on the mindfulness concept of ACT but I'm thinking mindfulness can also make you become more detached at least maybe emotionally from whatever it is you are being mindful of, because you start to just observe, and observing is just that, being aware, and you are a "step back" perceptually from what it is you're observing. Perhaps this mind state is related to the "zone" I have read athletes can get into when exercising.
Can the "mind" operate individually from the physical body, or does the body need to be healthy to achieve this kind of observation? Maybe it can some other time but right now it's working in the brain, in the physical body. Keeping this in mind I think that mindfulness can still help in seeing things in a sort of emotionally detached manner or at least to take a step back and observe.
