Think it will help? I want it to stop :'(

Well it seems the lexapro I was on made my depression worse, and it didn't do anything to help my social anxiety.

I am having my lexapro changed over to zoloft, which I had some success with in the past, in fact I don't even know why I switched to lexapro.

In addition to the zoloft, I am also planning on taking L-Theanine, which a number of people here reported that it greatly helped jerky movement when you get nervous or anxious, something which I get a lot.

Also, something I really want to try but I am unsure about is kava. Several people also reported great success with this. But I need to know, will it conflict or interact with the zoloft? The product I was looking at was Serenity, the same one which people here had reported success with. However, I did some research on kava and other kava products, and the ammount of kava in this one is rather low compared to others.

That being the case, I am also looking at this one, Kava Kava, which has a much more comparable dosage of kava, and it only contains kava unlike the other which contains several herbs.

It says not for use with people under 18, and I am 15. Would it be unsafe? If I am younger, should I try it but only take 2 pills a day instead of the suggested 3? Does anybody have any experience with kava they would like to share?

I did look into the claim that kava was bad for your liver, and I found this:
http://www.kickbackwithkava.com/Liver/UH_Study_April2003.htm

That makes me feel much safer using kava.

Would two of those kava kava pills have the same or more effect than Serenity? Because both suggest 3 pills a day, and Serenity only contains 60mg of kava where as the Kava Kava contains 409mg.

I know this thread might have been better suited for the drugs forum but this one gets viewed alot more and I need help fast. I am extremley depressed right now and if it wern't for these new medications to look foward to I dont know what I would do.

Whatever the case, make sure you are doing daily exercise: whether it be weight-lifting, running, bicycling, walking, or any other activity to lift your spirits.

Every day after school I go home and use my PC until bedtime. Basicly the same thing on the weekends.

Oh, ic.

Therefore, I stick with my recommendation. Drugs can only do a certain amount. They may even give you a false sense of hope. Its imperative that you move around more. Sitting around only makes one more depressed. The human brain creates endorphines and other chemicals when submitted to strenous exercise. These chemicals have resemblance to morphine, so they create a feeling of well-being. A typical phrase one hears is 'runner's high'.

I've been depressed alot this summer, but I started exercising on a regular basis in August and have had less depressing and illogical thoughts. I think you should at least get in a routine where your not laying around as much. It only worsens one's mood.

I agree with aguppylife, drugs can only do so much. Exercise is a great way to reduce depression, and for some reason listening to music makes me feel a lot less depressed, maybe you should listen to the radio or cd player while at home and see if it helps.
